A researcher at MIT has developed a bike helmet that is able to read cyclists’ minds. It detect the wearer’s brain waves and broadcasts their stress levels via LED lights.
When the helmet glows green, it means the cyclist has low stress levels, while red indicates high stress, and flashing red lights means that the wearer is in a state of panic.
It is also been recently equipped with GPS to log geo-located brain data. It is then used to create maps that can reveal the relationships between cyclists and their environment…

A study find relationship between attractiveness and performance in professional cyclists.
A Swiss biologist, Erik Postma collected 80 portraits supplied by race organizers ( Didn’t Include Team Sky as they were all wearing sunglasses!… ) and created an online survey, with the portraits presented in random order.
816 participants were then asked to score the cyclist’s attractiveness based on their facial appearances. (Their scores were excluded if they recognised the athlete)
Dr Postma then compared the attractiveness scores with the cyclists’ performance in time trials and in the race.
Performance and attractiveness were closely related : The 10 percent of riders who performed the best in the race scored an average 25 percent higher on attractiveness than the 10 percent who performed the worst…
